Our client is a family with two children. It took almost a year for them, to find the perfect plot. Magnificent view, calm inner world, in a nice slope with rich vegetation.
While shaping the building we wanted to reflect these points above. The design program includes a 2-car garage, storage, more private parent and child housing, a working room, a view-oriented living room, a kitchen and an outdoor grill.
Adapting to the terrain, the garage finds its place on a nearly flat section of the street in front of the plot, and the residential unit turns freely towards the view behind. Due to this duality, the building mass decomposes into two separated, but functionally connected masses. On a two-story, simple cube with storage and garage, in the first tract of the plot and pulled back from the street front to a three-story apartment block. The two masses enclose a protected atrium. Behind the buildings there is the green garden.
Passing the house next to the garage and atrium, we arrive in a transparent corridor that leads to the living room. The residential tower shows a more closed face towards the street, but opens up to the view on the opposite side. The space expands with the terrace and garden. There is also a barbecue area, which is accommodated by a two-way kitchen counter. The parent's residence is located on the upper level, facing the morning sun. The children’s section is downstairs, with access to the garden and a private terrace.
